Modeled after the show SharkTank, the pitch night provides aspiring space startups the unique opportunity to access prominent investors while connecting with an outstanding community of investors, entrepreneurs, academics and other enthusiasts about the commercialization of space.
The final applicants will be showcased at the first NewSpace NYC Space Sharks Pitch Night competition which will take place on June 19, 2015. This exciting event allows the finalists to pitch their idea to a panel of experts and the members of the space community.
Date, time, and location
The Space Sharks Pitch Night will be organized in two rounds. For Round 1, competitors will be invited to present their startups either online or in person. For Round 2, presentation in person will be mandatory. Both rounds will take place at the Columbia Startup Lab.

In Round 1, selection will be conducted by NewSpace NYC. Each presenter will have 10 minutes to present their idea. There will not be a limit to the number of registrations. Presenting slides will be accommodated for, but are not required.
For Round 2, selection will be made by a panel of distinguished judges. Each one of the 5 startups gets 15 minutes. Deck will be limited to 15 slides.

Each winner gets to choose the judge they get one hour with (pending agreement by judges). Similar to the show SharkTank, presenters get to choose which investor they want to go with. All finalists receive a pass into one month of the NewSpace NYC Incubator Beta (exact definition of what's provided will be posted shortly).
